The Job
As a Software Engineer, you are the architect and builder of the Powernaut engine. You will be responsible for developing the robust, scalable, and real-time systems that turn millions of distributed energy resources into a high-performing energy workspace.
This is a T-shaped role. In order to translate the values and culture of Powernaut into the organisational structure, we add flexibility to structural roles so people can grow into T-shaped profiles and every Powernauter can be supported by skillful peers. While your core focus is high-quality technical execution, you are expected to understand the commercial impact of your code—ensuring our solutions are both impactful and buildable.
Responsibilities
These are the core pillars of the role:
- AI-First Development: Adopt and champion an AI-first workflow, utilizing AI-enabled development methodologies to accelerate shipping cycles and push the boundaries of what is technically possible.
- Building for Scale: Develop and maintain high-availability services capable of handling massive data throughput from IoT devices across the world.
- Architectural Excellence: Contribute to a "security-first" and future-proof software architecture, facilitating easy roll-outs with our customers.
- The Technical Feedback Loop: Work closely with Customer Growth team to resolve complex technical escalations and transform "Implementation Pains" into elegant, automated product features.
- Quality & Resilience: Implement rigorous testing and monitoring standards to safeguard critical energy infrastructure against downtime or cybersecurity threats.
Key Activities
- Designing and implementing clean, modular, maintainable features for our platform, using AI-first engineering principles.
- Collaborating with the product team on system design, ensuring technical feasibility, interoperability, and maintaining high impact.
- Mentoring peers and contributing to our internal technical documentation.
- Maintaining & communicating clear status to the broader team
